Suggested Itinerary:

Day 1
Upon arrival, we'll head over to the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum for a visit and we'll see the IMAX film there and then have lunch in the cafeteria. We'll also have a chance to view some of the other Smithsonian museums. At closing time (5:00pm), we'll head over to the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner and then check into our hotel.
Day 2
After breakfast in the hotel we'll head to downtown DC for a tour of the Capitol Building. After our tour, we'll visit the Supreme Court. Next, we'll take a break for lunch at Union Station's food court. After lunch, we'll take a guided tour and visit the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials, the World War II Memorial, the Vietnam and Korean War Memorials and we'll see the Washington Monument. After the tour we'll go to Bertucci's in Alexandria for dinner and then visit the historic town for an evening ghost tour (walking).
Day 3
After breakfast in the hotel, we'll visit Arlington National Cemetery and the changing of the guard and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. After our visit we'll head downtown and have some free time for shopping and lunch at the Old Post Office. After that, we'll depart for our trip home.
